Mark Twain was the pen name of American author Samuel Langhorne Clemens. He is best known for the novels “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”. This quote needs little by way of explanation. Keep your life simple. Our lies are a complication that weigh heavy on our minds and require effort to maintain. Unburden yourself with the truth.

  1. I love this quote, Andrew. It’s spot on. I had a friend years ago who constantly exaggerated anything she did or experienced. As everything she said was elaborated on, she couldn’t keep up with herself and often slipped up when talking about a previous action or occasion. I don’t know how she lived with the stress of trying to remember everything. Being truthful is so much easier, even if it seems hard to do at the time.
