  1. Did you know that Eric’s cousin Don Ker-shinn was also a Harvard graduate with a double major in the psychology of gratitude and its application in archaeology. Specifically the celebration of a successful excavation – widely referred to as a Shinn Dig.

    1. Don Ker-shinn, known for his perpetual state of thankfulness, once embarked on a memorable journey to Germany. His enthusiasm for expressing gratitude reached new heights as he showered appreciation on everything from bratwurst to autobahns. However, his overzealous “Danke schön” (thank you very much) at a quaint German bakery backfired hilariously. The baker, perplexed by the profuse gratitude for a mere pretzel, responded with a bemused smile and handed Don a whole baguette with a hearty “Bitte sehr” (you’re welcome). Don Ker-shinn found himself not only with an unexpected abundance of bread but also learning a valuable lesson in the delicate art of international etiquette. It turns out, in Germany, they appreciate appreciation but might just reward it with an unintentional carb overload.
