“What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson was a 19th-century American philosopher and poet who was seen as a champion of individualism. We perhaps know this quote better as “Actions speak louder than words” which can be traced back to a sermon delivered by St. Anthony of Padua in the 1200s. Regardless of origin, Waldo reminds us that our well-crafted words, no matter how eloquent, are inconsequential when measued against our actions. Don’t say it, do it!
