“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”
George Orwell
Eric Arthur Blair was a 20th Century author who wrote using the pen name George Orwell. He is best known for the novels “Animal Farm” and “Nineteen Eighty-Four”. This quote puts me in mind of Col. Nathan R. Jessup shouting, “You can’t handle the truth!” played by Jack Nicholson in the movie “A Few Good Men”. It is up to all of us to separate the facts from the propaganda and to look for the full story behind the sound bite. There are two sides to every story, and sometimes in spite of the smooth side appearing to have more credence, the rough side has in truth more honesty.
